About us

The Elmgrove Centre started in 1989 with SPACE and from 1992 was run by
Christian Enterprises Trust (CET), which was founded to serve in the community and to foster initiatives which promote unity among Christian churches and organisations.

It has since grown into a vibrant community centre hosting everything from wedding receptions to artistic performances, charity fundraisers, markets and supper clubs.

Our Story

Over the years the Elmgrove Centre has seen many changes:

Once a traditional lofty and beautiful Anglican Church of St Nathanael with pews, organ, font and choir stalls, in 1990 it was renovated to feature a large open pine-floored interior with a kitchen, large meeting rooms and a balcony above.

From a building used just one day a week for church meetings it has expanded to host a plethora of celebrations and activities whilst still welcoming regular Sunday services. Activities as diverse as rehearsals for BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing' and for the world-famous Cameron Balloons to inflate and test a hot air balloon!

The Elmgrove Centre has also been the host venue for circus skills workshops, making a hang glider and for medieval banquets; performances from brass and ceilidh bands, choirs and theatre groups; for many wedding and anniversary parties; for corporate training days and for dance and exercise classes; as a night shelter, for counselling and therapy sessions; for children's soft play, a café and a crèche,

and we are looking forward to much more!
