Since its beginnings in 1989 with the launch of SPACE, and under the management of Christian Enterprises Trust (CET) from 1992, The Elmgrove Centre has been a cornerstone of community life in central Bristol. CET was founded to support local initiatives and foster unity among Christian churches and community organisations.

Today, The Elmgrove Centre is a vibrant and flexible multi-purpose venue, hosting everything from wedding receptions and artistic performances to charity events, community markets, supper clubs, and much more.

The Elmgrove Centre has welcomed a variety of events and activities, including:

• Rehearsals for BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing

• Hot air balloon testing with the world-renowned Cameron Balloons

• Circus skills workshops and hang glider making

• Medieval banquets and supper clubs

• Performances by brass bands, ceilidh bands, choirs, and theatre groups

• Wedding ceremonies and anniversary celebrations

• Corporate training days and team-building sessions

• Fitness and dance classes and community exercise groups

• Night shelter services, therapy sessions, counselling, soft play, café, and crèche facilities

With its spacious layout, historic character, and accessibility, The Elmgrove Centre continues to serve as a trusted venue for the community — and we look forward to hosting even more inspiring events in the years to come.

Originally the Anglican Church of St Nathanael, the building once featured traditional pews, an organ, a choir loft, and stained glass windows. In 1990, it was beautifully renovated to create a large, open interior with pine flooring, a fully equipped kitchen, spacious meeting rooms, and a balcony.

From a space used only for Sunday services, The Elmgrove Centre has evolved into a dynamic venue used daily for a wide range of events.
